Happy 4th of July

Still in Westport for another night.  Nice little town with very nice fireworks last night.  At noon we are going to walk into town to watch the holiday parade.

Last night we ate at the Marina restaurant.  The Petersons and we met another couple while we were going through the locks (Russ and Margo Zink) and they joined us for dinner.  Nice since we needed a party of six to make a reservation.  Regrettably the service was abominable.  We sat for 1 3/4 hours waiting for dinner and then it came in dribs and drabs and was just so-so as well.  Tonight someplace else.

It was nice to get to know the Zinks a bit better though.  Very nice couple.  They are former sailors (30 years) but have switched to power and own an American Tug 34.  Very pretty 10 knot boat.

Right now the sun is alternating with rain but when sunny it is simply beautiful.

Tomorrow heading toward Burlington with some stops to see several of the scenic bays and inlets of the Lake.

  1. Well, we're sitting here on the 4th, checking out your blog. Appears you are having a great time. Love the photos especially the one of "Taking Stock" in front of the Statue. Have you seen any Somalians? Did you know Michael Jackson died? Watson's dream boat is now my screen saver. Miss you, be safe
